Have you ever thought about this?

As you read this, it's possible that some people in your team are off work due to sickness. I'm sure you realise that some of these people are not sick at all and are, in fact, taking a day or more off work.

If they're not at work then you're probably losing production, disappointing your customers, losing sales and increasing your stress levels.

When they are at work, do you sometimes feel that they're not as productive as they could be?

The Gallup Management Journal conducted a survey amongst US workers 18 or  older and I quote from their report:

"24.7 million, or 19%, are what we call actively disengaged. This term describes people who not only fail to be enthralled by their work but are fundamentally disconnected from it. Actively disengaged workers tend to be less productive and report being less loyal to their companies, more stressed and less secure in their work. They miss more days and are less satisfied with their personal lives."

In their research the Gallup organisation also discovered that - 70 per cent of people don't leave their job - they leave their manager.

So a great number of people are not motivated at work and resultantly they tend to:

  • Take more days off (one in three staff "sick days" are not due to illness)
  • Spend a lot of time looking for other jobs
  • Create internal problems
  • Lose sales
  • Let customers down

There is too much evidence to suggest that business owners and managers are still not doing a good enough job with their people. The ironic thing is that - YOU - the business owner or the manager is the one who suffers most from a de-motivated team.

I'm on your side

You might also be feeling that I'm having a real go at you, but I believe we all have to bite the bullet sometimes for our own good. I believe that many business owners and managers are making life hard for themselves mainly because they haven't been shown or know how to motivate their people. They're also giving themselves a great deal of stress.

I know this because I've been there, I've made the mistakes and I've got the tee shirt.

I didn't get any training in how to motivate my team when I started as a manager - I was just left to get on with it. So I studied motivation at the Open  University in the UK, and read every book, report and research on staff motivation that I could get my hands on. I also studied how  the successful sports coaches motivated their teams.

After much trail and error I eventually discovered the "3" secrets of team motivation and I now want to share what I've learned and experienced over twenty-five successful years..

In my seminars and workshops I still meet managers, supervisors and team leaders who haven't had the right training - that's why I've developed an exciting new Seminar and Workshop called:

'The Motivational Manager' - How to Motivate Your Team and Win the Business Game

Your business success is my business

I managed teams of people for over fifteen years in sales, customer service, administration and production. I know how hard it is to motivate a team. I've used the "3" secrets of motivation taught in this programme - they worked for me and I know they will work for you.

Because, as you're probably aware, you don't in fact motivate other people, you create the environment where they motivate themselves and that's what I'll show you how to do.
